Had to leave at halftime, but the Tigers jumped out to a 3 td lead on Groveport by halftime.
The undefeated and nationally ranked Tigers have jumped out to a 20-7 lead (missed XP).

Jamie wood with two td catches already. The first was a half field catch and run (with a nice cutback), the second a short crossing run in the endzone, going thru the defender at the goalline for the score.

Zach had a nice 4th down run down to the goalline' to set up their starting), a sophomore Tyler B. Hammond who has run well tonight.

The next boren brother is starting at center as a true frosh and drawing some nice words from some sideline observers. By all reports the toughest of the borens.

Zach with a gorgeous catch down the middle, soft hands in stride as it arrived straight overhead, over his shoulder. Caught it and rumbled for another dozen yards. Turnover soon after gave it back by INT.

Pat white just destroyed a wr over the middle on D

Still 20 to 7 with 5 left in the 2nd.
Groveport drove to the redzone, but pressure led to a rushed throw and interception at the goalline.

Pickerington moved it 9 yds in 3 plays, to get out of their own endzone. Punted it away 53 yds.

3 Buckeye linemen are here, including Justin boren and jb shugarts.
Zach has bulked up nicely since last year, and looks a bit bigger overall.
Pat white just scooped up a missed fg and returned it about 99 yds for a score, after spinning and breaking free from many would-be tacklers
Pics coming.

The Columbus Dispatch : Pickerington Central players could be ineligible

Thursday, October 16, 2008 3:26 AM
By Steve Blackledge

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

The Ohio High School Athletic Association is expected to rule in the next few days on charges that the undefeated Pickerington Central football team used two ineligible players in its first seven games.

OHSAA associate commissioner Bob Goldring said his staff hopes to resolve the issue "as soon as possible, but probably not (today)."

Accusations of residency violations and recruitment were lodged by an outside source Oct. 9, Pickerington Central athletic director Pete Laihr said, and the players were temporarily suspended.

"The district has completed its investigation, including home visits, and we have submitted all of our paperwork to the OHSAA," Laihr said.

Laihr stated that the players -- one of whom has played in varsity games -- are enrolled in the district. The players' names were not released.

I just got done watching Pickerington handle Lutheran Orange, CA (Blake Ayles' and Aaron Corp's HS) and this is a team to watch. Great speed and man can their defense hit. I kid you not when I say I have never seen a physical display like this before...about every hit drew "ohhs" and "ahhhs". Keep an eye out on junior corner Mike Brown. The guy hits like a ton of bricks and has good closing speed. I don't really think he is an OSU offer but he could develop into a great one.

Also, #4 Eilar Hardy was impressive but I'm not so sure the Bucknuts database is correct with an OSU offer. Possible offer, as he passes the looks test, but there were more impressive players that caught my eye. To me the most impressive player on the field was Bowling Green commit Tatum at LB (first name escapes me).

The LB was Willie Tatum.

And I was wondeirng what year Mike Brown was. He was pretty good. I was looking for Hardy but I didn't know his number. Oh well. Pickerington as a team though looked very good.

Brown is a junior and Hardy was #4.

I'd never seen them play before until that Herbie Classic game against that CA team.

Man! They are fun to watch. They play the game the way it should be played. Fast and Fierce. That QB got pummelled for 4 quarters.

Look forward to seeing them in the playoffs.
