Philadelphia Eagles (official thread)

Somewhere out there Charlie Strong just gulped.

Re:

1. Of course, there is the issue of whether the man in question would even want to return to college football. He is said to have not enjoyed recruiting or the dog-and-pony show that comes with appeasing the egos of 16-year-old running backs and 56-year-old boosters.

The FBS job market at the moment resembles the Wal-Mart TV aisle at 5 p.m. on Black Friday, with only Ball State and Texas State open.

2. Black Monday sure to be ugly next week, there will be some opportunity.

3. Kelly’s contract will pay him $32.5 million over five years.

There could be several NFL openings next week. I'm thinking he really wants to stay in the NFL and the Browns, Titans, Dolphins, and/or 49ers could ultimately be possibilities. Regardless he can be very choosy and may not be in any hurry to find a new job, the Eagles are still "on the hook" for 2 more years on his $32.5M contract.

Farewell sweet Chip Kelly additions.

Another shoddy QB getting his in Philly. Not really seeing the wisdom in investing so much cheddar in these two.
