The Buckeyes finally get another point guard.
After missing out on a few other targets, it looks like Ohio State has the point guard they’ve been looking for. According to multiple reports, 2017 PG Braxton Beverly has committed to Ohio State.

Beverly, a three-star prospect out of Hazard, KY, had offers from George Washington and Miami (OH) (where he had previously committed), but was attracting interest from programs like Alabama, Western Kentucky, Butler, and West Virginia.
Beverly was also a teammate of current Buckeye Derek Funderburk at Hargrave Military Academy.

At 5’11, 170 pounds, Beverly isn’t the bigger guard that Thad Matta has liked to recruit in recent years, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have skills. Here, he scored 70 points in a high school game, which is difficult to do, against any level of competition.
Beverly is Ohio State’s second commit for the class of 2017, joining four-star big man Kaleb Wesson. He should provide additional depth at point guard, especially if JaQuan Lyle decides to leave Ohio State early for a professional career.
