Sheriff 'absolutely offended' with criticism involving Las Vegas shooting timeline
Sheriff Joe Lombardo said he was "absolutely offended" by criticism of Las Vegas police over discrepancies in the timeline of the Oct. 1st mass shooting. (Reuters)
Las Vegas police said Friday that the gunman who opened fire on a country music festival far below his hotel suite did not shoot a security guard six minutes before that rampage, contradicting a timeline they had offered earlier this week.
The change marked the latest shift in the official narrative of what happened before and during the massacre on Oct. 1. Authorities said the gunman, Stephen Paddock, fired from his high-rise suite in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, killing 58 people and injuring hundreds more before killing himself.
Joseph Lombardo, the Las Vegas sheriff, also said Friday that the number of injuries related to the massacre had increased, rising to 546. Of that number, he said, 45 were still hospitalized, some in critical condition.

I'm still not convinced on this one but you know what I want someone to look into?
I think Ralphie's mom used up all the glue on purpose before she broke the lamp.
think about it
SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, TX—In the hours following a violent rampage in Texas in which a lone attacker killed 27 individuals and seriously injured several others, citizens living in the only country where this kind of mass killing routinely occurs reportedly concluded Sunday that there was no way to prevent the massacre from taking place. “This was a terrible tragedy, but sometimes these things just happen and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop them,” said Kansas resident Britt Mulvanos, echoing sentiments expressed by tens of millions of individuals who reside in a nation where over half of the world’s deadliest mass shootings have occurred in the past 50 years and whose citizens are 20 times more likely to die of gun violence than those of other developed nations. “It’s a shame, but what can we do? There really wasn’t anything that was going to keep this individual from snapping and killing a lot of people if that’s what they really wanted.” At press time, residents of the only economically advanced nation in the world where roughly two mass shootings have occurred every month for the past eight years were referring to themselves and their situation as “helpless.”
No. It has just been hidden to protect sensitive feelings I guess. I'm sure this will end up there. Follow the cornflakes (or snowflakes?) and beware of the big, bad wolf.Thought the political forum was gone?
Yes. People who want to discuss shootings with intelligence and remorse should choose a different thread. I'm not moving it at this point. I have clarified this thread's place though, I think.by the way, could someone edit the title? instead of "vegas shootings," could it read "(insert location here) shootings"?
‘No Way To Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens
Can we discuss the New York attack here? Or is that not allowed because the terrorist was Islamic?Yes. People who want to discuss shootings with intelligence and remorse should choose a different thread. I'm not moving it at this point. I have clarified this thread's place though, I think.
I probably shouldn't have been so flippant with my renaming. I just was noting this thread is a bit off the rails. So of course anything related is acceptable. Can we discuss the New York attack here? Or is that not allowed because the terrorist was Islamic?
