Randy Johnson just threw a perfect game at Atlanta against the braves. He had 13 strike outs and the diamondbacks won 2-0. Its fun to see a guy at the end of his career get a perfect game before he goes into the hall of fame.

Pretty damn impressive, at 40 or 20!

You guys remember back to when he was lucky to be able to throw over home plate? His control was scary. I recall hearing a radio interview with some athlete that played baseball with him in college (I cannot recall if the teammate was a professional baseball or football player). Funny stories about his control. Wasn't it against Johnson that Larry Walker threw his batting helmet around?

I still remember how pissed Johnson was at Kenny Lofton because he took two bases and scored a run on a wild pitch in the playoffs. Johnson tried to take Kenny's head off the next year, and they were good friends.

A man 40 years old hitting 98 mph on the radar gun in the 7th-9th innings is absolutely remarkable.

Overshadowed by the Big Unit's perfect game, Jason Schmidt threw a one-hitter against the Cubs tonight.

The only hit Chicago got was an infield single in the 5th inning by catcher Michael Barrett. Schmidt also struck out 13 in the game.

The one thing I found disturbing though was Schmidt's pitch count which ended up at 144. <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :eek -->

You're almost asking for arm trouble when you throw that many pitches.
