People Leaving Cleveland and other cities

My brother lives in Cleveland and is always complaining about how high the taxes are, how bad the schools are, and more. He then instantly follows it by asking when I am moving there and he is dead serious.

Not to mention no sports championships in what? 50 years?

One problem with the Cleveland area is that there's not a ton of land undeveloped that's relatively close to downtown. Compare that to Columbus where most of the south side (Grove City, Groveport, etc.) is still relatively undeveloped. I'm always skeptical of Columbus' population counts, becase they're always annexing little townships that nobody's heard of and adding them to the city.

In last week's SI, They Said It has a quote from Ichiro:

"I'm not excited to go to Cleveland, but we have to. If I ever saw myself saying I'm excited going to Cleveland, I'd punch myself in the face because I'm lying"

Yep, Ichiro is now an American.

The problem isn't just Cleveland its the whole steel belt of the country that is losing people
wrong not the entire amb, and look at the candian extension of the amb (main st) it is prosping b/c they realized early on in the fordist/post fordist movement that diversification is a key to success. cities like columbus have thrived under the same situation. interesting topic and i can on and on...
