The Nittany Lions of Pennsylvania State University come to Columbus to battle the Buckeyes in a three game series at Bill Davis Stadium.

The Lions enter this weekend at 15-21 (2-7 Big Ten)after a 2-1 loss to Mount St. Mary's (PA). In Big Ten play, PSU has lost all three series: 1-2 to both Illinois and Northwestern and a sweep by Purdue. The Buckeyes are looking to right the ship after a home loss to MAC member Akron on Wednesday.

I'm not sure if I count as a booster, but if not I'll give $100 to any OSU player who plunks a PSU player straight in the face. No limit on the number of plunks.

Notice I said player and not pitcher. If you're the 2nd basemen and you just completed 1 out of a double play....you can accidentally plant that ball into the eye socket of the guy coming from first.

Michigan lost 2 games of a DH to Iowa and Sparty split a DH with Illinois

so Ohio State stands in sole possession of first in the big 10 right now at 7-3 with Michigan and Michigan State at 6-5

you'd think it would get tired hearing that....but it really doesn't.

I figured it was us and UM at the top. I havent even looked at the standings yet this year.
Until we have no chance left at an at large, i tend to focus on our RPI. Needless to say, scUM losing two vs Iowa will knock them outside the top 50, and hurts our cause a bit.

With our remaining schedule, we still have a chance at an at large, so i'm not going to hang my hat on winning the B10 tourney. I'm going to continue to root for every team on our upcoming schedule to win. When all hope for an at large is lost, I'll starting paying attention more to the standings and forget about RPI.

Losing 3 of 4 to teams ranked outside the top 150 has pretty much eliminated any
margin of error.

If we can win...

at least 2 of 3 vs UM, Illinois, Iowa, and Minne
at least 1 of 2 vs Louisville
1 of 1 vs Ball St
1 of 1 vs Pitt

...we will be in good shape for an at large, but does anybody really think we can do that?
The opportunity for an at large is still there, but realistically it's probably time to focus on
winning the B10 or at least finishing second. Getting a bye in the b10 tourney is so huge for a team thin on pitching . Having a bye and playing at home is probably our best shot now...i was so hoping it wouldn't come to that, though.
