Penn State Photo Gallery now up

Considering that photo was taken in a down pour, it's surely going to look " soft edged.

Try comparing the same shot from both on Pittmans td. The shot with his foot up in the air from JD is quite "sharp". Hayn had a little trouble there.

Great stuff!
Much better than jwins!

How about a "Red-out" for Michigan?

I hope he doesn't come and kick your ass! Overlooked this post. I saw his gallery from the Herbie Classic and he had good stuff as I told him. In fact, as he knows, I've inquired to use him as a second photographer on some of my gigs.

My Pittman one of him crossing the goal line is NOT in focus. It was my backup camera (20D) I used on that play as I was messing around with a flash card and should've stuck with the Mark II and I would've nailed it!

Don't take that as a knock. Your pics a defintely top-notch.

Some shots you get, some you don't. Great shot on Freeman rushing Morelli.

I used to think he was the best... before I took action shots myself. Hayn's shots are sharper, JimD ends up with more soft edged action shots. This is a matter of very good vs good, imo.

I appreciate the vote!

Jim is a good photographer, but aside from that I think some things need to be realized about photos that are posted on the net. Photographers like myself and JD don't post our photos (even the BEST ones) on the net at a high quality b/c people like to steal them. JD had a problem with someone stealing photos from his site and selling them on ebay. In the post processing stage I lower the quality of my photos for this same reason. I'll have to ask him, but JD may even add "noise" to his photos to deter this. Or he is cropped in so tight that the pixels start show more. I'm not sure. Personally, I try to post photos that are viewable but not easily copied. This is done, as I mentioned, by saving the files as very low quality. The hosting site(s) sometimes affects quality too. The way you see the files on the net is NOT they way they look printed. If you ever see my prints you'd be blown away by some of them quite honestly; especially if I'm in awe of a certain photo.

PS that Pittman TD that was mentioned...I'd never print that...I just included it for content. I did print this one before he crossed the goal line however: http://www.foreveryoungimages.exposuremanager.com/p/penn_state_2006/osupsu06_333copy50
