If your team is where Penn State fans think they are, you don't wait for coaches to get fired. You poach them, anyway.

She’s the best.. has always been real about the gap between Columbus and State College and has never been shy about it.

On Terry Smith - my wife is somewhat connected and says much to her chagrin there’s a huge groundswell in the alumni base to hire him. She highly doubts it happens but it’s enough to annoy her…so there’s that.

Reading their boards it seems there is a lot of growing support from the fanbase to hire him also. Still quite a few of the Joe worshipers are salivating over the "Joe 409" button he was wearing. Obviously a good indicator of the qualifications for the head coach of a major D1 team.

At this point, I’m not sure PSU has much of a choice. It’s not the destination job that they always thought it was. Smith may be the best option considering they broke the bank to buy out Franklin. They’ve already lost all their recruits for next season.

What’s even funnier is Nebraska who spent a ton to keep Rhule from jumping to PSU was demolished by PSU yesterday.
