Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

I didn't know which thread to put this in - here or The Game thread.

Original Penn State doofus is worried that Ohio State will throw The Game to "screw over" Penn State. Basically, that would take Penn State's "bye" away. He's considering the championship game a "bye" if they aren't eligible. Then, if you lose the championship game, you don't get a bye in the playoffs.

I think he's bought into the article I linked last Monday - that Penn State was smart to lose to Ohio State so that they couldn't make it to the conference championship game.

The rest of the nerds in the thread tell him he's a doofus and he should go back to bed.
Now we're in position to get the bye next week, just as we drew it up. Ball's in their court.

Makes sense he sticks around another season.
I asked this rhetorical question when Christian Hackenberg left after 3 years: What has he done to prove he's ready for the NFL?
I've asked that about a lot of people and I've been wrong a lot. But I've also been right a lot.
Hackenberg got drafted and paid. So maybe I was wrong.
But he didn't play a down. So maybe I was right.
Then he went to some team in the USFL or whatever that league was called during COVID. And he laid a lot of turds. Then his backup went in and won some games for his team. So maybe I was right.

So the thread is on the ratings of the 4 games. #1 was OSU. #2 was ND. #4 was Penn State. Of course, they can’t be as low as #4 most popular team, right? So they try to justify it as the game was early, it was on TNT, and up against NFL games. They also go so far to blame SMU - must be that no one wants to watch them. It can’t be Penn State right?

Press Box Demolished to Start Major Work on Beaver Stadium Renovations

Beaver-Stadium-press-box-demolition-Guise-768x512.jpeg

A crowd of spectators gathered on a snowy Saturday morning to watch the Beaver Stadium press box, part of which predates the stadium itself, come tumbling to the ground. The structure was felled by the detonation of a series of explosive charges that project executive Scott Mull, of construction manager Barton Mallow, described as “kicking the legs out from under” it.

The spectacle marked the start of large-scale demolition for a major renovation project largely focused on the stadium’s west side over the next two-plus years, with a price tag of up to $700 million.

“It’s all about turning this into the palace you deserve,” radio voice of Penn State football Steve Jones, who emceed the lead-up to the demolition, told the crowd who braved snow squalls and slippery roads to watch from the Stadium West lot. “Not [just] the press box, everything on the west side is going to be done. It’s all being done for all of you and for the football program, because it’s the best program in the country with the best fans, and you deserve the best experience.”
