Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

I'm obsessed with this game and trying to pass time at work so I wandered to their message boards. I don't post I just read what they say but my god are they Delusional. I've seen so many predictions from their base in the 52-24 range and I'm just dumb founded they could come to that conclusion.

They have the talent to win the game sure but they're going to double a team that has two weeks to prepare, at home, avenging a loss, and has more high end talent then them? Jesus Christ.

Well, cult members tend to be delusional, so...

No we’re not
I said "nearing" but Sparty has kept us out of the big ten title twice and Ped now once (two if we lose this week)
was Wisconsin our rival when they had a few wins in the 90's?

There is The Game and our only real rival

Then there are all the members of the quadrennial relevancy club. PSU is in that club with Wisky and Sparty.

Occasionally good enough to beat OSU, never consistently good enough to be OSU's rival.
I get that and no doubt scum is our rival... but they haven't had much success either lol

That is the point now isn't it?

One rival, one singular focus...win The Game

OSU is supposed to beat everyone else along the way. Sometimes they slip up and it sucks but slip up recipients don't become rivals.

Beta Theta Pi former brothers have felony charges refiled against them

Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller announces the charges in the investigation into the death of Tim Piazza at the Centre County Courthouse Annex on Friday, May 5, 2017. There were eighteen people and Beta Theta Pi fraternity corporation were charged.

the beginning of September, Judge Allen Sinclair dismissed felony charges — including aggravated assault and manslaughter — against the former Beta Theta Pi fraternity brothers from the Alpha Upsilon chapter.

As of 1:30 p.m. Friday, District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller refiled those charges against Brendan Young, Luke Visser, Gary DiBileo and Michael Bonatucci.

Sinclair dropped the felony charges after seven days of preliminary hearings at the beginning of this past summer, as previously reported by The Daily Collegian. Parks Miller has been pursuing charges since February, after the death of sophomore Timothy Piazza at the Beta Theta Pi fraternity house and promised to refine the felony charges after they were dropped.

OSU lost twice to the SEC in much more painful fashion. Did that make them a rival?

They could become a thorn this weekend. Other than general mockery, they simply don't matter that much, particularly when they aren't good.

so at best, they are third, and that's only because osu has won recently vs Wisconsin, or they'd be a distant 4th.

Dantonio's success against us goes beyond "slip up" imo.
Not that they're *the* rival - will always be scUM. But as the yearly round-robin has become smaller with 7-team divisions... there's a much closer sense of familiarity now, I think. Similar to NFL divisions that see eachother every year... and more than OOC opponents... season is decided by those in-division games. Right now Indiana, Rutgers, and Maryland are the whipping boys. MSU, PSU, scUM, and Ohio State all vie very closely with eachother.

My dislike of PSU comes from what they allowed to go on there for decades. I had an opportunity to go to the game today, but... just couldn't stomach the thought. They shouldn't have an athletic department anymore AFAIC.

Yes all of this. All of this.

Ped shouldn't even have a program for another 10+ years as far as I'm concerned.
