COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State baseball team topped Penn State, 3-1, Friday night at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. With the win, the Buckeyes improve to 26-13 and 10-6 in the Big Ten while the Nittany Lions fall to 11-26, 2-11 in conference play.
Ohio State took the early lead with a run in the bottom of the first against Penn State starter T.J. Jann. Joe Ciamacco walked to lead off the inning, stole second, moved to third when Ryan Cypret reached on an error by second baseman Luis Montesinos and scored the first run of the game when Kirby Pellant grounded into a double play.
The Buckeyes plated another in the bottom of the third off Jann. Back-to-back singles by Brad Hallberg and Ciamacco and a walk by Kirby Pellant loaded the bases with two down and Pat Porter followed with a free pass to score Hallberg for the 2-0 Buckeye advantage.

    Thanks, BB36.

The Buckeyes swept the Lions! I attended Game 1 (3-1 Bucks). Bill Davis was rocking!

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State baseball team took both games of a doubleheader to sweep a three-game series against Penn State Saturday at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. The Buckeyes held on to take the first game, 10-8, before picking up an 8-3 win in the night cap. Ohio State improves to 28-13 on the season, 12-6 in Big Ten play, while Penn State falls to 11-28, 2-13 in conference play.
"We've played well this year in doubleheaders and now four of our conference wins are doubleheader sweeps,' Ohio State head coach Greg Beals said. ?It?s a task to be motivated for 18 innings, especially on the back end of exam week, and I'm really proud of the way we responded. It was challenging for our guys but we took care of business today."
    Game 1
After the originally-scheduled Penn State starter Steven Hill was a late scratch because of injury, the Buckeyes threatened against Ryan Harper in the bottom of the first. Ryan Cypret and Kirby Pellant both notched one-out singles and moved to second and third with two down on a groundout by Pat Porter. Harper was able to get Jacob Bosiokovic to ground out to third to end the inning and keep the Buckeyes off the scoreboard.
