Strange goings-on in the separate lives now being led by Mr. and Mrs. McCartney.
You may recall that the estranged couple is hammering out details of a divorce after 4 years of marriage. Then came rumblings that Heather Mills McCartney was not the lady she appeared to be. There were reports that she had been a high-priced call girl, and that she had posed for what she termed a sex manual (other people called it porn).
Then came reports that Heather was filming photographers and passersby outside her home, citing assassination fears and security concerns for 2-year-old daughter Beatrice.
"John Lennon was shot and GeorgeHarrison was stabbed and loads of kids are kidnapped," she reportedly said at that the time. "People are pursuing me around the country. I said stay away from my baby. I have a catalogue of evidence."
At any rate, now comes yet another interesting twist. A taped telephone conversation! (Wasn't it about time we had one of those in this sad saga?)
It was reportedly between Sir Paul McCartney and daughter Stella McCartney - long rumored to be a huge non-fan of her soon-to-be ex mother-in-law. Stella reportedly questions Lady McCartney's charitable work and announces her belief that Heather was a hooker.
Oh, yeah, she supposedly called her a liar, too.
Well, wouldn't you know that somehow that tape landed in the hands of Heather, who played it for Paul, who reportedly turned white and blanched.
Sir Paul and company are mulling whether to turn the matter over to the authorities to launch a probe, because that kind of taping isn't allowed in England (and a lot of places).
Anyway, back to the estate: Heather reportedly has been living in a guest cottage on McCartney's 160-acre estate in Peasmarsh to allow them both access to their daughter.
A source described as a close family friend told London's Sunday Mirror, "Heather is absolutely furious with Stella and does not want Bea to see her - ever again. This is no idle threat. Heather means every word and is fully prepared to go to court to stop Stella seeing Bea."
One thing is clear. Everyone needs to chill. And stay away from electronic devices, too.
