Pats/Giants first three-network simulcast in NFL history

No they wouldn't. Outside of Florida, nobody would care about them. If the Patriots lose in the playoffs after going 16-0, they will be remembered for choking. Nobody will care one bit about their undefeated regular season.

I think only people that have a personal hatred of the Pats will downplay their 16-0 record if they lose in the playoffs. Every objective, neutral, NFL observer will always remember that there were only two teams in the modern era of the NFL to go undefeated in the regular season -- the '72 Dolphins and the '07 Pats. Finishing the season undefeated is WAY bigger than winning the Superbowl, which a team does every year.

Besides, its not like the Pats are some random team that got lucky this year. They are already considered an NFL dynasty like the Cowboys of the 90s, 49ers of the 80's, Steelers of the 70s, and Packers of the 60s. The 70s Dolphins were never considered a dynasty. Their random undefeated season was their only major claim to historic fame.

I'm disappointed in all of you.

NEW YORK -- The New England Patriots' shot at history Saturday night will be available for every household in the country with a television after months of wrangling.

The game against the New York Giants, in which the Patriots could become the first NFL team to go 16-0 in the regular season, was originally scheduled to be shown only on the NFL Network, which is available in fewer than 40 percent of the nation's homes with TVs.

But the league announced Wednesday that the NFL Network feed will be simulcast on NBC and CBS. It's a major concession by league officials, who repeatedly said they would not show the game anywhere but the NFL Network. The NFL had faced mounting pressure from politicians in recent weeks to make the game available to more viewers.

...

I would like to know who these politicians are, what area they represent and let's see if they might have some bigger fish to fry than whether or not their voters can watch a fucking football game.

hmmmmm it looks like three teams are going to get in from the AFC South and only one, the Patriots, from their division.....not a very strong schedule the Pats had to face, in or out of their division, on their way to the record...
