The amount of people who ride those things without life jackets continues to amaze me.

I'd call riding a jet-ski, without a life-jacket, a high risk activity. I'd also call it extremely stupid.

I would imagine. Heck, just thinking about all the snakes and gators in that swamp gives me the willies.

it has to be illegal to ride without a life jacket. in most states it is.

ive had two people i know including one friend die in snowmobiling accidents. sometimes its hard to separate tragic from not so smart...

Him not wearing a life-jacket is certainly stupid. It's worse than not wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle, or not wearing a seat belt while driving.

As far as jet skiing being a "high risk activity" (with a lifejacket), I don't think you can blame someone there. If something is a high risk activity because people can die while doing it, then you'd have to consider driving a car a high risk activity, along with many other things.

Just an unfortunate situation.

Pats' Hill honored at memorial service

NEW ORLEANS - As he stood near the casket of late New England Patriots teammate Marquise Hill, defensive lineman Jarvis Green swallowed hard, took some deep breaths and offered a few fond memories to Hill's grieving relatives.
"He made everybody laugh," Green said. "The first time I met him he made me laugh and the last time I talked to him he made me laugh. He worked hard. He gave his all. ... That's the kind of person he was."
Hill, a 24-year-old father of a 2-year-old son, was buried on Saturday, nearly a week after his death in a personal watercraft accident on Lake Pontchartrain.
