I have to get a passport soon...

I didn't realize you have to supply the photos...

4. Provide Two Passport Photos Your photographs must be:

• 2x2 inches in size
• Identical
• Taken within the past 6 months, showing current appearance
• Color
• Full face, front view with a plain white or off-white background
• Between 1 inch and 1 3/8 inches from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head
• Taken in normal street attire
  • Uniforms should not be worn in photographs except religious attire that is worn daily.
  • Do not wear a hat or headgear that obscures the hair or hairline.
  • If you normally wear prescription glasses, a hearing device, wig or similar articles, they should be worn for your picture.
  • Dark glasses or nonprescription glasses with tinted lenses are not acceptable unless you need them for medical reasons. A medical certificate may be required.

Someone told me to take the pictures on a digital camera and Walmart resizes and prints the photos to specs...

Anyone have any experience?

I think you can get the pics taken at Kinkos. I think that's what I did, but I don't really remember.

Be sure and apply for your passport *well* in advance of your planned trip. They take several weeks (4-6??) to process.

I know someone who had this done at Kinko's recently. It cost $11 or $12 I think, though, which seems pretty high to me.

I went to my local Post Office and got 2 passport photos for $15. Then I filled out the form on the US Passport website and mailed it in along with my old passport: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html

And for those that might not know, beginning January 23, 2007 you must present a passport if you are traveling by air between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.

I got mine at Wallgreens, but I'm not sure if I'd reccommend that. This short lady just lined me up infront of a white background and took a picture which meant it was at a really low angle so it made the picture look weird cause the lady was like 5ft tall lol.

BKB went to Kinkos I do believe... maybe post office, ok.. so I really don't know... but if you have a place that provides finger printing/background checks (where one might go to get clearance to be a teacher) they typically do passport stuff there.
