What’s ridiculous is that Olave, Wilson, JSN, and Jameson were Top 20 last season, so Hartline has coached seven different players to make PFFs Top 20 list in two years.

If Hartline turned down being the OC at ND, I don't see him wanting to be the HC at UC. That'd be the equivalent of Ash leaving as DC at OSU for Rutgers

God I hope he doesn't leave. The only upside I see is the waiting for the OSU opening. .
I think Fickell saw the writing on the wall that OSU won't be looking to him and left to Wiscy.

My hope is that after being the passing game coordinator, Day gives up more playcalling to Wilson or whoever might replace him if he takes an HC job. Then Hartline moves into a co-oc role as a promotion. Maybe Associate HC.

This would be fucking awful.
There is no way to play it off any other way. Far and away the best recruiter AND best position coach on Day's otherwise very questionable staff.

Hartline could improve in developing depth.
Marv and EE played every snap until games were blow outs.
The played nearly 80 snaps v Michigan.
Fleming was basically in the same boat.
How we could not have another WR on the roster capable of 5 non-garbage snaps a game is bizare.
There is no way they don't get gassed at points where they could use a play off every now and then.
How engaged would they be as blockers knowing they will be running a post the next play.
How hard it would it be to go full tilt for 80 snaps knowing there is no chance for a play off.
Assuming he is also involved in the passing game I'm not sold he is a wizard in terms of scheme's.
Shouldn't we expect wr's of that quality to get open with more frequency?
It seemed we were overly dependent on Stroud throwing a dart to a well covered receiver making a catch in traffic.
No doubt he is a terrific recruiter and developer of talent (at least those on the 1st team).
There is no way He (who has never been a coordinator) should be ranked higher currently the Luke who has been a DC under Meyer, a historically successful HC at UC, and now the HC at one of the better programs in the B1G.

Hartline runs a meritocracy..the three best play. After the Rose Bowl I thought maybe MH should have seen more playing time last year.
