Well we all know bad special teams play has cost some teams losses in the past:

:slappy:

We wont be losing any games this season. Special Teams or no :pimp:

The Buckeyes should be more than a TD favorite against every team they play (at least during the regular season). Besides proper execution (i.e. not having a disastrous special teams play), stay up by 2 scores or more so one bad special teams play (if it happens) doesn't lose the game.

I actually have a high opinion of the NC kid we got and I think our new Aussie punter will do just fine too. Since Tressle we just haven't needed our kickers to be as good since we score 6 or go for it. I think we need to change that just to be safe.

Bump for the first-year Special Teams coach... Ruggles and Mirco have been reliable, both kickoff units are solid, punt returns aren't as scary as they've been in the recent past. I'd say Fleming seems to be doing okay!
Got nervous when I saw this one up again. Thought maybe there would be monkeys involved. Or pole dancers. Or both.

Let's give Flemming credit for having special teams looking competent and well organized.
Without researching I feel like we do well in terms of coverage and returns (not sure about punt returns).
But he doesn't deserve credit for Ruggles being nails.
Unless he is unbeknownst to me some sort of kicking guru. If Ruggles was 50% of FG's assuming the misses weren't the result of operational error, then it wouldn't reflect on Flemming.
I still would rather have another dedicated defensive coach to balance out the fact our HC is an offensive coach and we already have 5 dedicated offensive assistants to 4 on D.
I've literally never heard Parker's name in terms of recruiting.
