I absolutely cannot wait for some dumb motherfucker to cost his team a game because he dove for the pylon from the 7-yard line like a jackass trying to get on Sportscenter, and ends up tossing it through the endzone. A few have come close lately, but haven't quite done it.

Completely agree. It's smart on 4th down, moronic on 1st down. Only the facemask penalty saved Jones from costing his team the ball on the 1.

Wow, that was a total embarassment. Put the Colts offense and the Bears defense together, and you get about 90 straight regular season wins...and an 0-7 playoff record.

As much as I love the Bears I think some good will come out of this loss. Rex Grossman and some of the younger players got the playoff PT that will help them next year.....anyone know if 'da Bears have a decent first round pick? Santonio sure would look great in a Bear uni.....

I don't know why anybody thought the Bears were going to win. It was funny after the Atlanta game when everybody was sucking Grossman's dick. Yeah, he had a few good throws, he was better than Orton (gee, who isn't?), but he still was like 8 for 18 with hardly any yards. Is anybody surprised that he sucked?

But it wasn't Grossman that lost this game...it was that "vaunted" defense that not only couldn't keep Carolina from scoring, but never got the ball in decent field position for the offense, either. Take away Urlacher's Stairway to Heaven interception, and the D was basically terrible all night. Grossman isn't John Elway, but he did keep them in the game in the second half.

I am a big Bears fan, but the defense was awful the last 5 games they played, and Lovie should have had the Coach of the Year award yanked for tanking the last game and not having his guys ready. Of course, if Lovie didn't get it, Dungy would have, so...

I don't know where you get that. They were bad against Pittsburgh, but that's nothing new since they couldn't beat any AFC teams that had a pulse this year. They did well against Atlanta although Vick sucks (see another thread). Green Bay is a rivalry game on the road and Favre torched them somewhat but they still only gave up 17 points. The Minnesota game meant nothing.

They gave up a whole bunch of yards at home to Green Bay as well, and I don't care if it's a rivalry game or not...the Packers didn't have their 2-deep at RB, no Walker, a bad offensive line, and a Favre clearly past his prime. They got a couple of turnovers, but gave up a whole bunch of yards. It was obvious that when they played a better team that could move the ball and cash in (like the Panthers), they were in trouble...Atlanta doesn't qualify. And the Minnesota game didn't count, exactly right...and that was the problem. The Bears couldn't afford to sit everyone for that whole game, because everyone here said they wouldn't be sharp come playoff time...and obviously they were right. You could see it in their body language during the Minnesota game...they weren't going to be ready, and obviously they weren't.
