Soo... After months and months of research, I've got it narrowed down to either the [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-VIERA-TC-P50G10-50-Inch-Plasma/dp/B001UAEWUS"]Panasonic TC-P50G10[/ame] or the [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-PN50B650-50-Inch-1080p-Plasma/dp/B001W6NU9E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1253597260&sr=1-1"]Samsung PN50B650[/ame].
For the price, and the technology, this is what we're down to. Yes, I'd love to have a Pioneer Kuro or one of the newfangled Samsung full LED LCDs, but it ain't happening in today's economy.
CNet ranks them both highly, Consumer Reports gives the Samsung the edge, others I've talked to say that Panasonic is the industry standard for plasma while Samsung is tops for LCD (concluding that I should buy the Panny since we're going plasma).
I'd greatly appreciate any feedback that BP folks have- do you have one of these sets? What are your pros/cons? Any thoughts on brand reliability? Etc.
I'm not looking for a plasma/LCD/LED/DLP discussion, just the usual helpful insights that ya'll are known for.
Even Buckyle.
Thanks...
