Palmer's knee worse than originally thought...

They saythis kind of crap all the time. Throw out the 'career ending' thing, so that when the athelete does come back, they can label it a 'miracle'. Didn't some doctor also tell Steve Smith that he'd never play football again after he broke his leg? Same with Mcgahee, CP will be back.

McGahee's injury was a little diffrent then carson palmers in that palmers knee was not completly bent inward. As medicine and technology get better, yes there will be less career ending injuries but dont slight a player from making a solid comeback. The fact that McGahee is in the NFL is unreal at least to me.

Remember, the one footing the bill is the same guy who tried to lure Tony Siragusa by flying him to Cincinnati on a regular coach seat.
It's also the same guy who wrapped up Palmer through 2014 for about $20 million a year. I'm thinking Brown would spend a bundle to protect that kind of investment ($24 million even if Palmer never plays another snap). Comparing Brown's shrewdness towards Siragusa with the Palmer situation doesn't make sense.

Lets hope that you are right.

After seeing McGahee come back, I now think that anyone has a chance to come back.

That article is 2 days old. Yesterday was when the doctorb in question said it was worse than feared.

Rumors on the Bengals board is that the team was livid when the doctorb's story went across the AP wire.

Then the doctorb comes back and says, "No, it wasn't that bad."

Me thinks I smell soP lurking around (soP is son of Paul Brown)

Gotta agree with Tibbs here. The doctorb's olympic caliber backstroke after the inital story just sets my bullshit alarms off the charts.

All the family back in SW Ohio are die hard Bengal fans and are saying the same thing after a week or so of local talk shows and media leaks.

Also still a lot of smoke to the fire about a major locker room meltdown at halftime. The coaches post game comments regarding winning and losing as a team seemed odd at the time but make a lot of sense now.

All in all with this kind of knee injury I wont be suprised to see Palmer physically on the field for most of 2006 but not back to 100% untill 2007. You just see it so many times, guy makes the 1 year comeback but just isn't the same player for another year or so.

Esiason alluded that something happened between Johnson and Marvin Lewis but I missed it. Haven't heard any details though.
