Jeez, you pick up the local paper hoping to read about some Hawaii football, and this is what you get. Some guys just love the limelight.

Scott Terna has a dream job. This Punahou alum went on to become a punter at Ohio State University (1993-94). From there, he became a photographer with enough skill to land a gig as the photographer of OSU coach Jim Tressel's Web site. He's on the field, up close, in some of the best games with the best athletes, such as A.J. Hawk (last year), Teddy Ginn, and Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn (last season's Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State).

Describe the excitement you get from your job and the best memory you have while on the job?

"You don't really get to enjoy the game as much because your eye is in the camera. Sometimes you get caught in the action and you're not doing your job as a photographer. It keeps me close to the game. I like watching the young guys come up and move on to the NFL. See some of the best talent the country. It's fun.
"As far as the most exciting moment? I was working with College Game Day in the 2002 season. It was 2003 National Championship game (Ohio State and Miami). I was working with the (onfield) camera guy. We were covering the Ohio State marching band doing their script Ohio. The big deal with the script Ohio is that the sousaphone player dots the 'i.' I was standing five feet from him as he dotted the eye and I turned around and looked at the fans (in the stands) and about 80 percent were Ohio State fans. I'm thinking, 'I'm on the field as they were dotting the 'i' during the National Championship game. It can't get any better than this.' "

I really didn't want them to include me, but b/c I'm covering UH for them this week on the trip to Alabama they thought it would tie in nicely. Local boy goes/went BIG I guess. At least that's how they preached it to me.

Hope all is well with you. We'll have to grab some beers over the Christmas Holiday.

Peace and Aloha!

PS Notice the PUNAHOU connection in the rest of the stories? Norm Chow, Kenny Patton and Brett Kan. Gotta try to live up to the PUNAHOU TRADITION! Who said we're spoiled and stuck up? Is Michelle Wie spoiled or stuck up? Steve Case? Barak Obama? LOL!
