I went to the LaSalle-Colerain game tonight and let me tell you: the Bucks got themselves a punter. With the score tied at 36, he hit a game-winning FG with 10 seconds left in a TORRENTIAL downpour. More importantly, however, both of Drue's punts were brilliant. The first was a pooch punt that pinned Colerain inside the 2 or 3. The second came in hard rain late in the 4th quarter with LaSalle deep in their own territory. Drue did a nice job handling a very low snap and hit an absolute boomer that, with an excellent roll, pinned Colerain inside their own 5 and probably netted 80-85 yards.
Side notes:
1. Great game. Terrible officiating, unfortunately. Plenty of controversy and angry coaches/fans.
2. Larkin had a short TD and a nice punt return, but didn't do much otherwise. Probably ended up with negative yards rushing.
3. The non-punter that really impressed me was 2017 LaSalle RB/DB/LB Jarrell White. He played both ways. The best RB on the field without question, and ALWAYS around the ball on defense. Dossesque. Very solidly built. Remember his name. Wouldn't surprise me to see him at MSU or elsewhere in the B1G.
4. 2017 LaSalle OT Thayer Munford, at 6'6", 342 lbs, seems to carry his weight quite well. Seemed quite agile and light on his feet for such an enormous human being. Wish I'd have paid closer attention to his play.
5. Colerain has a DL that is 5'10", 405 lbs. That is not a typo. And he actually played in goal line situations.
