So, setting aside the ridiculousness of Wisconsin fans starting to chant "over rated" when Ohio State was 24-0 and the only zero loss team in the nation, I have to question why any fanbase would chant "over rated" in the first place.

You just beat, or were on the edge of beating, the unanimous #1 team in the nation. Why in the hell would you minimize that accomplishment by chanting that the team you're just about to beat isn't really #1?

Seems pretty stupid.

I think it's just the standard that certain programs carry. I'd honestly rather be the school who's ranked No. 1 than the school who knocked off No. 1.

If I'm the AD of the school who just knocked off No. 1, I'd wonder why my school couldn't reach that ranking (can't recall the last time Wisconsin was ranked No. 1 in football or men's basketball).

Sometimes people don't bring up the billions that Bill Gates or Warren Buffet have made, but concentrate on the millions they've lost on various ventures.

You never see ESPN bring up the fact that OSU reached No. 1 in both football and men's basketball today (and commend that feat).

This is an alcohol induced fanbase. A bunch of college students (and grads) that eat stale cheese and drink lots of cheap beer. They are a fanbase that can only exist in that miserable state because there's nothing else to do there other than milk cows and get ugly at college games. Needless to say, the Buckeye fans are a classier bunch that don't resort to spitting or throwing things at players. We will get our redemption On March 6th and again in the fall. Go Bucks. :osu:

I think the reason each fan base does this has to be analyzed individually.

Let's take the case of Wisky and a possible reason. We all know that Wisky is quite famous for cheese. I'd imagine that the typical Wisky resident, who was in attendance at the game yesterday doing the over rated chant, consumes significantly more cheese than the rest of us. We also know that cheese makes poop hard. Being backed up with much hard poop can cause irrational thinking/behavior, justifiably so I might add.

Did anyone else notice the number of commericals for Dulcolax yesterday during the game?

In basketball, Wiscy has only been #1 one time, for a single week in 2007.

tOSU has been #1 for 34 weeks in the AP poll all-time, which is the 8th most of any school.

134 - UCLA
121 - Duke
105 - N Carolina
089 - Ky
057 - Kansas
045 - Cincy
044 - Indiana
034 - Ohio State
032 - UNLV
029 - Ariz
029 - San Fran
028 - UConn
021 - TSUN
017 - Illinois

In football, Wiscy has also only been #1 for a single week. They lost in their only appearance as a #1 football team, 23-14 to tOSU in Columbus on October 11, 1952.

Edit - Ohio State is the only school in the top-10 for appearances at #1 for both football and basketball. That's why the Buckeyes are able to be beaten while #1 in both sports in the same academic year. It's an achievement, not something to be mocked for.

In other words, Wiscy has been #1 in football and basketball a total of once each, and they lost in Columbus each time.

 Considering the hard poop postulate presented here, all that beer must change the orifice that poop must exit. Verbally they have proved that poop does flow uphill. There seems to be a switch that gets activated in the brain when beer is involved, it says open mouth, spew poop, drink more beer and repeat the process.

Though I've never personally experienced it, that sounds extremely painful.

My buds and I have been laughing at that for years. The icing on the cake was when they stormed the court after beating an "overrated" team.

Idiots.

Are you talking about Wisconsin or Auburn? If you've been to the Rathskeller and looked out on American Lake, had a pint of Leinenkuggle and a real bratwurst, then you know that there's much to the good to say about Wisconsin and Madison.

Probably the only place to avoid drunk and obnoxious college fans is Oral Roberts U. They're just obnoxious.
