I guess I don't see it like a lot of people. I see a kid who had a lot of potential. A kid who showed some patches of outstanding athleticism. I also see a kid who was terribly injury-prone and who was so incredibly self-centered that he seemed incapable of thinking team.

I have difficulty accepting the argument about the jersey being thrown off after a practice, when so much of the article focused on his intentions to go pro.

Humbled? He doesn't understand the word. If he did, he would have apologized long ago and recanted his lies.

In my mind, despite his contribution, he was never a Buckeye and he never will be. I am disgusted that he gets all this ESPiN attention now, in a vain attempt to raise his draft round and vindicate their support of this nut case. I am embarrassed for Herbstreit.

:stupid:

He wouldn't change a thing the last two years because he is not capable of seeing anything other than himself. The lies on police reports, all these lies, can he even distinguish these from truth?

How can he possibly expect to be invited to Ohio State for NFL days or spring games? After all he did, I'm with Andy Geiger. I have no time at all for him. Absolutely none. May he reap what he has sown.

Ughhh.... Do not let someone who is saying all the right things for a selfish reasons fool you. He has no remorse. If he did he would have appologized to his teamates for all the scrutiny he caused them. I could give 2 rats ass if he issues columbus an appolgy like I have heard many others say, but he he owes his teamates and Coach one. Maybe that has been done, we will never know.

I think there are really 2 sides to the him and Geiger. I think Geiger was not a saint in his dealings with MO C and MO C saught revenge both are in the wrong.

As far as his future, I wish him the best as I would any 20+ year old kid. I just do not want to his drivle anymore.

Go Bucks

I totally agree with these observations. Clarett took money in high school from some booster and it continued at Ohio State. He was just a chronic lier and cheat. He never thought that the rules applied to him (if he even cared to know what the rules were); and if caught, believed that he could lie his way out of it. He was a literally a "NCAA investigation time bomb" just waiting to explode.

Unfortunately I don't believe that we would have won the national championship without him. There were so many close games with so many key plays in these games that without could have easily resulted in a loss, etc. Carett made many of these key plays like the wheel route pass in the Michigan game and stripping the ball from the Miami defender after the interception in the National Championship game. However, without Mike Doss, Matt Wilhelm, Kenny Petersen, Andy Groom, Chris Vance, Cie Grant, Donnie Nickey or a dozen other players (who made numerous key plays too) we wouldn't have won it either.

We had "just the right mix" of players with the "stars being in just the right alignment" to win 14 games that year.

Exactly. I couldn't agree more. As for Herbstreit, he really let me down by jumping on the ESPiN bandwagon with our slight problems last fall; therefore, I'm not surprised he would try to help Clarett by giving him airtime when he needed it most. In my opinion, Herbstreit has sold us out on multiple occasions now.
