Out-Of-State Players To Watch

Buckeyes Stop In To See Top DB, D-line Teammate
Nashville (Tenn.) Father Ryan defensive back Joejuan Williams has told Bucknuts.com on more than one occasion he plans to visit Ohio State, it is just a matter of when.

Today the Buckeyes are in Tennessee to see Williams as well as his teammate, two-way lineman Jeremy Darvin.
The 6-foot-2 and 280-pound Darvin plays offensive tackle and defensive end for Father Ryan, but will likely play defensive tackle in college.

Darvin is a 3-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He is the country’s No. 53 defensive tackle and the No. 21 prospect in Tennessee.

Not an Ohio State recruit, but a must-read story: Rivals - Adam Gorney - 1 July 2015

Crammed into a bus with other eager football players, Wole Betiku endured the 12-hour ride through the barrens of Nigeria for his chance, his greatest opportunity.

Betiku was headed from his hometown on the outskirts of Lagos to a sports camp in Uyo to be discovered, to get his big break, the dream of America within his wildest imagination.

That day all those fantasies of a better life, more opportunities, became reality as former Maryland linebacker Ricardo Dickerson, who runs sports camps in Africa, paid particular attention to Betiku.

Dickerson shared highlight tapes of the athletic specimen with LaVar Arrington, who remains involved in charity work, and before Betiku knew it, he was living in the United States with the former Penn State and NFL linebacker. Arrington is now Betiku's legal guardian.

Betiku relives that half-a-day bus ride and sharing cramped rooms with those other players in vivid and stark detail.

"The bus was jam-packed and I couldn't even move my legs when I got out," Betiku said. "The mindset is if the coaches tell you to put your head in fire you have to do it.

"The room situation, there was like 10 in a room and it's a small room so some guys were on the floor, some were on the bed. Over there, we didn't care. Everybody slept on the floor, slept on the bed, we were just trying to make it. Tomorrow we could be gone to America so that was the way it was."

In late 2013, Betiku arrived in Maryland but that stay would be short-lived. A job at the NFL Network for Arrington meant a move to the Los Angeles area.

That's how Betiku, rated as the fourth-best strongside defensive end and No. 44 in the class by Rivals.com, ended up at powerhouse Gardena (Calif.) Serra. Serra is a breeding ground for college stars and a chance in the NFL.

Early during his time at Serra, Betiku's football understanding was elementary -- at best.

"He didn't even know how to put his helmet on in August," Serra coach Scott Altenberg said. "He had no idea where things went with his football gear. He had no idea."

Check out this guy's video:

Video/Photos: 7-foot, 440-pound lineman John Krahn may be the biggest football player ever

To see video go to: http://www.maxpreps.com/news/w_efs9...n-may-be-the-biggest-football-player-ever.htm

He is taller than any player to ever play in the NFL, and is roughly the same size as WWE superstar Big Show.

Wonder if he has acromegaly, which is what Andre The Giant and Big Show both had. There is a surgery to correct it that stops a lot of the issues (heart problems, arthritis, etc) that come from it. Big Show had the surgery, but Andre did not.
