OU's Braxton and Patterson...

When OU players report today, two recruits will be absent.

Chris Patterson, a linebacker from Chicago Hubbard, and Brandon Braxton, an offensive tackle from Youngstown (Ohio) Ursuline, did not academcially qualify. OU coaches expect the other 15 newcomers to report.

Patterson is expected to enroll in junior college. Braxton fell just short on a correspondence course he took this summer. His plans are uncertain.

Braxton could attempt to achieve the qualifying score on the ACT test this fall, then enroll at OU in January. He could enroll in a prep school and attempt to raise his test score. Or he could enroll at a non-Big 12 school as a nonqualifier; in that event, Braxton would have to pay his own tuition and would be in eligible as a freshman.

Braxton, a 6-foot-6, 300-pounder, was not expected to play this season; he was probably headed for a redshirt.

I remember peole on the "other site" blowing a gasket when we didn't go after Patterson, even though he grew up loving Ohio State. Then Chris Pool comes along and says his GPA is barely 1.0, but that didn't stop the losers from whining. Same as Dampeer two years ago. Both couldn't get eligible at Oklahoma.

Oklahoma Practice Report

Dampeer is qualified and playing for Oklahoma now, although apparently the big fella is a tad out of shape. I found this article that mentions him. I don't know what you can and can't post, but let's just say the phrases "not in good shape" and "worse condition among the scholarship players" appear. I posted the link for anyone that has Rivals access.
