I aim to misbehave
Honestly, its not much to look at...
RPI 74
Record vs. RPI Teams
1-50....... 0 - 3
51-100.... 1 - 4
101-200.. 22 - 8
201+...... 9 - 2
1-7 vs the top 100 and 31-10 vs 101 + wont play well with the selection commitee.
If we sweep State Penn and lose in the finals of the Big 10 tourney, we may get the "snow bid" that the NCAA apparently gives out from time to time.
IMO, "snow bids" are really more of a myth created by southern baseball fans who think the NCAA hates the SEC and the south...really, I'm not making that up.
According to people here(alabama), the NCAA is always conspiring to bring down the SEC in every sport, and the "snow bids" given in college baseball are just another way for the NCAA to stick it to the south.
On the other hand, some folks here in alabama think snow bids are given to help build inetrest in college baseball "up nawth"...this one makes a little more sense to me.
Michigan was labeled a snow bid last year, but managed to preform pretty well...could we be the snow bid of 2006??
Not likely, if the myth of the "snow bid" is indeed true, it will most likely go to UConn, St Johns, Missouri State, Evansville or maybe even Kent(if they dont get the MAC Auto).. All those teams have a better resume than us at this point. You can add scUM to this group if they do not win the Big 10 automatic bid.
Lets just hope we can win the tourney ,so we dont have to worry about all this kinda crap
