  • Watching old NFL videos on Youtube while waiting for Spring, I was reminded of this guy. He had the good fortune of playing for Woody Hayes and Paul Brown, and was on the 1968 national championship team. I remember him from his 8 years with the Bengals.

    Being a sports history nerd, I Google these guys when I see them. I learned Rufus died of bacterial meningitis in 1990. He was only 42 years old. Like Doug France, I think any Buckeye greats who aren't listed here need added when noticed, especially champions, even if they were gone before BP. They all played a part in making The Ohio State Buckeyes what we know and love today.
