OSU Women's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

Thanks wolves2002. If she comes in strong, she's got a chance to play. WBB roster will be sorely depleted next year. Counted 8 (eight!) players seniors or graduates on the roster. Core should be strong, Cotie, Taylor, Emma, couple of freshwomen, and maybe Maddy, if she gets an injured year. go Bucks!

Bestbuck, certainly agree with you. Just got back from C'bus, saw couple of WBB games. There are three bigs on the team, and two of them run out of eligibility at end of the season. The third (imho) doesn't look nimble enough to move around the key to a) block shots; b) get to the rim; c) gather in rebounds. The good news is that with the commit of a highly touted PG, that's what bigs look for, someone who can dish out the ball.
Here's hoping that coach can attract bigs as well as he can reel in guards.....Go Bucks!

Saw the write-up on WBB personnel, with the now two portal people listed, and there was a C noted as coming in. Anyone have a write-up on her? Is she a Dorkas, or a Mika? Like that Rikki and Maddie still/might have eligibility left, hopefully the desire to stay, but going to be a massive rebuild. Go Bucks! PS, anything about McDuff losing his Asst HC to another school?

To answer all of those questions at once: there's speculation.

Really hate losing Diana. Thought she would blow up next year. I definitely see McGuff needing to replace staff next year. If we could just find another Davenport we'd be in business.

Daughter wore Jantel's jersey number in HS. Her coach, from Ohio, asked if she knew who wore that at tOSU, and she readily answered 'Jantel Lavender'. Thought all the news hounds would be asking about the new commit - sounds like a foreign name. If she was USA, then we'd know about her. PS, watching McDuff and the coach sitting on his left, they didn't share much, and noticed (imagined?) a coldness between them. Certainly not a cohesive staff relationship. Also believe she was instrumental in getting this #3 PG, whose sister is already on the team.

Jaloni Cambridge showed why she’s one of the top players in the 2024 recruiting class on Friday.

The Ohio State signee scored 33 points to lead No. 4 seed Montverde Academy to a 79-78 comeback win over No. 1 seed in the Long Island Lutheran in the High School Nationals semifinals, capping off her standout performance with a game-winner.

National Champion, again. Can't wait to see her in scarlet and gray

After watching UConn and So Carolina play, was watching their bigs hoop it up. Made me very jealous that tOSU cannot get a tall, rangy, big able to run the floor. Put one in the paint, and get some smaller shooters to buzz around and hoist it up from 3. Go Bucks!
