THE GRAND OPENING FESTIVAL OF CARTOON ART WILL BE HELD AT THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY IN COLUMBUS, OHIO FROM NOVEMBER 14th-17th. THE FESTIVAL, A CELEBRATION OF CARTOONS, COMICS AND THEIR CREATORS, IS HELD EVERY THREE YEARS. THIS YEAR WE HAVE MORE TO CELEBRATE THAN EVER: THE OPENING OF OUR NEW EXPANDED FACILITY IN SULLIVANT HALL.

Between Milton Caniff, James Thurber and Roy Lichtenstein, Ohio State holds quite a distinguished position in the field of cartoon art. It's great that we have such an extensive facility in Sullivant Hall to display and celebrate the craft.

It's not hyperbole to say the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum is "the world's largest and most comprehensive academic research facility" for comics and cartoon art. Ohio's own Bill Watterson will have an exhibition (along with Richard Thompson) there next March-July.
