OSU Fans in Knoxville, TN???

TJnTN

Hall of Fame
I did a search on this but couldn't find anything. I know in a lot of cities Alumni and Buckeye fans unite for the games. I haven't found a place here in Knoxville to meet up with other Buckeye fans. So, are there any misplaced Buckeyes fans in Knoxville, TN here on BP? Where do OSU fans in Knoxville go for the games or do we need to get something like that going??

the SEC is too quick, you can't see their fans.......nor any other fans that live in SEC country.

:tongue2:

I believe there was a thread a while back on where folks watched games in different cities. You might try the search function for this...good luck.....

I'd go have some barbecue at the place on the river (can't remember the name) and watch the game there. It seemed like a nice place when we visited Knoxville...

Sounds like you found yourself a good woman. :wink2:
I've actually met a lot of OSU fans here in town. There is always a few at Wild Wing Cafe on game day, Baileys, BDubs and now that they've opened a PennStation in town I'm sure I'll be running into some more OSU fans.

I think that you are talking about Calhouns on the River......Don't think they play tOSU games there, but the BBQ and beer is good. Calhouns, like most other places down here is covered in that hideous orange color on Saturdays.

TJ, there is a group that watches Buckeye games at Oskie's in west Knoxville. I went a couple of times last year. It would be great to have a place near downtown or the University area though.

Maybe we need to start something then towards downtown. I've been to Oskie's too for a game....wasn't a big fan of the place. The tv's are ancient and the food was just ok.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed by the place either. It was nice to have a place to watch the games that weren't televised nationally....if we could have that option at a nice place downtown; That would be great. Do you have any ideas? Any other Knoxville area Buckeye fans on board?

The only thing about doing it downtown and close to campus is that it's a mess on gameday. It would be like UT fans doing something on Lane Ave during gameday. Well maybe not that bad if we did Gay Street. I'll think of something and try to spread the word.

Oskie's isn't what it used to be.

Sadly.

An alternative - it is also where you would pick up Steelers, Browns and other NFL games the next day, is Rookies.

Great screens, OK food, (who cares really though, get wings, meal selection done) and reasonably priced brews.

The owners are open to the idea of parking a screen for a game, which is really what a group getting together wants.

On NFL game day they park screens for Green Bay, Browns, Steelers, Raiders and Redskins - so I'd guess they would be willing to consider adding to their college game day screen parking of 'Bama and the like. You'd just have to promise, then demonstrate, a dedicated crowd.
