OSU Broker you recommend

Hi all,

I am organising a trip from Canada to see "my" buckeyes.

I was planning on going to see the game versus Northwestern. My plan was to get there and try to get tickets either at the ticket office or wait til the game starts to get tickets from students or fans without having to pay ridiculous prices for scalped tickets.

Problem is i'm bringing 7 of my buddies and they aren't too keen on the idea of making a 14 hour trip without having tickets in hand.

So my question is: Does anyone of you know a good ticket broker which doesn't sell tickets are ridiculously high prices !!! Of course I would love to see the Michigan State game instead of Northwestern but some of my buddies are on a tight budget....

Let me know if you know someone who is fits that description...

Thanks

I've had good luck (better seats, better prices) with anyevent.com (call 800 any-event). Not used them for that many seats (4 was the most I bought for a game) but this early should help. anyevent is now part of a publically traded company, ticker: tixc, so its not some fly by night outfit.

They are all in the business of making money... check stubhub.com, they back their tickets... usaseats.com (aka tickets galore) is reputable and has an office in Dublin.

When I need tickets or need to dump tickets I check stubhub, and place a call to usaseats as well as calls to two other tickets brokers (the other two are guys that work out of their home... and deal in cash only, if you get my drift. I've dealt with them long enough I can trust them... a little... however I wouldn't recommend them to a guy coming from out of town... to say they are a little shady is being polite)...

i've scalped games like northwestern for years and never paid over face value. if you want 7 together, however, its going to be expensive no matter where you get them. i'd tell your buddies not to worry, there will be plenty of tickets available on the street.

Thanks for info

Hey guys,

Thanks for the info. I've already checked all those web sites prior to posting. And to be honest, I really hate these sites. I won't be purchasing tickets from them that's 100% sure. I'd rather miss my trip to Columbus than give money to thsoe thieves.

FourthAndOh, thanks for your feedback this gives me more insurance that I can get tickets the morning of the game. If not I will wait til kick off time to get 2 sets of 4 tickets.

BTW, Is it possible to buyt tickets on friday morning instead of saturday morning ? I heard that sometimes the ticket office mysteriously opens on fridays in order to sell some tickets. Does someone here have a story about getting tickets on friday instead of saturday ?

Thanks guys ... :oh: :io:

Read through the Sticky thread called 'Single Game Tickets Tips' at the top of this forum. Sometimes they are available earlier in the week, but usually not for the biggest games; it seems to be a crapshoot otherwise.

Thanks for the tip. Believe me I have read that whole freaking thread multiple times I even saved the articles in case the server goes down or that thread gets shut down.

What do you think are my chances of getting tickets the morning of the game....oh and when it comes to my buckeyes I have no limits...I will sleep there to make sure i'm 1st in line....i'm such a fan that I even ordered a buckeye tree to plant in front of my house  ..so there are no limits on how far I will go to see that game with my buddies...

Next season I'm very confident there will be tickets sold 'morning of the game' for every home game.

Big Ten games (Wisconsin especially) and special events (Senior Day, etc.) will likely be a little tougher to come by, but even then I'd be shocked if tix aren't sold at the General Public Tickets window.

It should be another good season to see 'our' Bucks @ the Shoe! :wink2:

I got great seats for the indiana game from the ticket office early in that week. They were not being sold on Hangonsloopy.com, rather just by calling 1-800-gobucks. I think it may have been Tuesday moring of game week.

Thanks

Thanks for the phone number guys.

I'll defintely be giving it a shot this year.

I should post a pic of the guys and myself that will be making the trip. We are 8 guys and we are allowed to bring a 24 of beer each...So if you ever spot us in the tailgate just let us know who you are and we will gladly share some of our canadian beer with you guys...Especially padraig who seems to be very involved with this message board.

See you soon....Sept 22

the 1 800 number

Hi guys regarding that 1 800 number that you call on tuesday the week of the game.

Do you have to go and pick it up afterwards ? Do they mail the tickets to you ?

How did it all work out for you guys when you called those guys.

I will be arriving in Ohio on Friday...

It's easiest to just have them hold the tix for you at Will Call (they might require it with such little time to mail them).

Bring a photo ID of whoever orders the tickets, and the Credit Card you used to purchase them too, I think.

There's usually no line for Will Call. It will open about 4 hours before Game Time.

Good Luck! :osu:

They are every season.. you can very good prices too, just dont be a sucker :) i see 4-5 games a year and this is the way every ticket is bought.. worst case scenario i'm tailgating but more often than not i end up with a good ticket at little over face value. even away games.. more of a risk but often times i'm getting tickets way under face.. i'll never forget 2002 indiana the family went over and we bought 5 tickets at 5 bucks a piece haha

but if your coming from up north you probably want a better battle plan

I meant for face value at Public Tickets Sales the week of / morning of the game...I should've been more clear.

Other than the scUM game last year, several people (myself included for every home game the last 2 years) have gotten great seats (A Deck, 50 yard line for example) for home games from the Ticket Office @ face value.
