I give up. This board is too hard to understand.
You're not alone Clarity. I get burned out on movies all the time. I can only watch movies on DVD anymore and I run a movie theatre. All the hype and talk about movies just ruins my interest... but that's my job.
I think LOTR did win most of the awards based on the triolgy as a whole like you said. They only part of the Oscars I enjoy are the opening skits, the part where they cover all the people that died over the last year and the final four awards (director, actor, actress and picture). Other than that I can't watch all the BS that goes with it.
Plus... can't Peter Jackson dress up for the damn awards. The guy can't comb his hair or button the top button on his shirt or fix his tie? What a slob.
