Ohio State Football: Way-too-early 2020 game-by-game predictions
2. at Oregon Ducks (Sept. 12)
Only playing a game in the state of Oregon once in program history, it came in a 1967 matchup against the Ducks where Ohio State won 30-0. In 2020, it will be one of the most exciting non-conference games of the season and the Buckeyes will have a real test at the start.
Traveling to the loudest stadium in the Pac-12 will be a difficult task for the Buckeyes that will show us what level both teams are at for the rest of the season. Putting out one of the best defenses in the Pac-12 last season, it will only get better with their 2020 recruiting class, making it a strength-on-strength matchup with Justin Fields and the Ohio State defense vs the Oregon defense.
With the Ducks one game away from the College Football Playoff last season, the Week 2 matchup at Autzen Stadium will be one of the best games in the 2020 season. The Buckeyes will have a tough time coming out with a victory but will be the first team of the season to make a statement.
Prediction: Ohio State wins

Way-too-early predictions of Oregon’s 2020 football schedule
SEP. 12 VS OHIO STATE
Predicted Result: Ohio State 31, Oregon 20
Oregon Record: 1-1
Explanation: This will not be an easy game. Ohio State could be ranked first nationally when this game is played, and with the talent on that roster, I'd expect Oregon to be at least a one-score underdog despite where the game is played. The Buckeyes lost just once in 2019, and it came in the College Football Playoff semifinals in a game that featured a few questionable officiating decisions.
The Buckeyes do lose two of their stars in running back JK Dobbins and defensive end Chase Young but will have Justin Fields back to run the offense. I think Oregon is competitive here. Despite predicting Ohio State to score 34 points, I think the Oregon defense shows really well against an offense with NFL players everywhere. I'm more concerned with the offense's ability to hang.

Way-too-early prediction of Ohio State’s 2020 schedule
Sept. 12 at Oregon— Projected result: W
Unlike last season, it won’t take long for Ohio State to face their first true test of the season. In week two, they’ll head to Autzen Stadium to take on the Oregon Ducks who are coming off a Pac-12 championship season and a Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin. They will no doubt be seeking a spot in the playoff conversation again next season.
However, the Ducks are losing their starting quarterback, Justin Herbert, to the draft, along with four members of their offensive line and other key players on offense. I can’t see a young Oregon offense successfully out-smarting Wade, Cooper, & Co., especially in their second game of the season.
Another fun fact: Oregon has never beaten Ohio State. The Buckeyes lead the all-time series 9-0.
