Oregon -9.5 at Ariz St (ov/un 68.5) Thurs 9 ESPN

How could ASU be getting trounced? It's a black out! The fans are wearing black! The players are wearing black! Why aren't the Ducks terrified?

43 straight points and it's not even halftime. :slappy:

:slappy: yeah ok. Oregon plays big boy D too in case you hadn't noticed.

Allowing 20 points and 360 yards per game is big boy defense? Maybe for Oregon it is....I guess....

That's coming against Arizona (DickRod), Fresno State, Tennessee Tech, Arky State (where they gave up 34 points), Wazzu, Washington (their lone good win) and so far against ASU. Not exactly impressive.

Jesus, are you an ap voter? Because you sure talk like one, just look at the final scores and come to final conclusions. Those teams did most of their damage after the game was out of reach not to mention their D is on the field more than Bama's and LSU's. You are writing them off for no reason other than you dont like the fact that they're not a traditional power and don't win traditionally. This team is legit and it is because of their D.

Where did I say I cared if they were a traditional power or not? Let the butthurt flow through you.

I'm just saying they aren't a good matchup for Bama and I think we're going to see that on the field in January.

Agreed.

And I actually don't mind one bit this year.

We will just have to disagree then - If Bama and Oregon matched up after a 3 or 4 week hiatus, I think Oregon scores one TD early and ends up losing 34-14 or so to Bama. For whatever it's worth I don't think Oregon loses to anyone else in the nation this year.

That was 4 years ago. Are you really trying to say this is the same team?

No. New team. Same mentality. Once they run up against
A team with a competent offense and a defensive pulse (especially
Up front) then you'll see them revert to form.

Its still fucking Oreg?n. They finally play Dlineman
Over 260lbs. Its a finese offense, finese defense.

Bama's offense is this teams nightmare.
Bigger, stronger and willing to punch you in
The mouth as we know Oregon still doesnt have
That "physical" mentality.

Has the scheme changed? No, not really.

Has the defense improved? From then? It's a FG per game better scoring-wise and about 30 yards per game worse.

If it wiggles like a fish....

De'Anthony Thomas, so called Heisman trophy candidate

15 touches, 29 total yards, zero touchdowns.

I agree. Bama would crush them. Their power offense would be able to control the clock and limit the oregon offense putting them on the sideline. Saban's defense can match them easily, much better at the point of attack which is the heart and soul of the oregon offense. I will take the Bama front 7 in that matchup anyday.

They keep getting these big run plays by getting this faster guys in space against undisciplined defenses in the PAC12. Vs Bama there wont be that space and they have guys just as fast as all of their skill guys (besides DAT, but he has got shut down several times this season.) But what makes them a bad matchup vs Roll Tide is Saban is a master coach, he can make adjustments and his defenses are too smart for that zone-read BS.

Oregon had below 48 yards passing, for the entire game vs ASU. They are way too one-dimensional. In the SEC they have 2 losses IMO. They are to finesse and not strong or tough enough up front yet. What I like about OSU's offense, which is similiar to QuackAttack is buckeyes have a bunch of badasses upfront and can run it with force. I dont see that with Oregon. They do too much stuff on the outside.

I will admit they have improved on the defensive side of the ball. But I think they would get bent over playing against a big power run team like Bama that has a giant Oline and beast RBs.

Yeah, Oregon had 404 rushing yards. That, in itself, is impressive as hell.

Relatively.

Oregon rush yards vs ASU - 406 @ 6.8ypc

Ohio State rush yards vs Nebraska - 371 @ 7.7ypc
Wisconsin rush yards vs Purdue - 467 @ 8.2ypc

Though it probably could have been worse (for ASU) if Oregon had to play after the first quarter
