Oregon 39, Michigan 7 (final)

I really like how Hart plays from snap to whistle, but pretty much everything else that little piece of shit does makes me wish an injury on him. He's a grade-A asshole.
I give Hart a B-grade.

Iowa's Mitch King stands alone at the top.

Putting the team in jeopardy when they're down 25 and absolutely stonewalling a DL that outweighed him by 80 pounds???? Ok I guess

True, it's not like him playing hurt was going to hurt the team, however, if he gets seriously injured and has to end his season then what? Though part of me admires the heroics, the logical side of me realizes that theres a reason you don't want your players doing that, a small injury can become a big injury very easily. So it's a bruise, but if he can't move his leg fast enough in the pile and busts his ankle...

Just my thoughts, I will say that he seemed to be the only scUM player that actually gave a crap about that game though.

I see your point as well. At that point, it just looked like he was so pissed he wanted to hit something and got his opportunity. I know he takes a lot of shit from you guys, but he cares. I'll say Jake cares too, but other than that....bleh..Mario can't even hang onto the damn frozen rope from Mallett, the defense, well, we all know about them.

I won't argue his caring and he's a player, he's probably the only shining star on that team. The main reason he gets shit is he opens his mouth. He does the same shit David Boston did, promise wins and not be able to back them up.

In their last four games, Michigan has given up 1953 yards and 147 points. That's more than the 1997 Michigan team gave up for the year.

:io:

Really? Holy shit. That's unreal. Somewhere there's gotta be a loophole for another year of eligiblity for Charles Woodson  God we need corners. Maybe it's just me, but if you can't man up on the other team's wideouts, shouldn't you go zone? Just a thought

The '97 U of M defense gave up 114 points for the entire '97 season compared to 147 for Michigan in this current 4-game skid.

I can't tell how accurate the exact yardage total is, because sack yardage and bowl games were (or weren't) applied in various different ways then as opposed to today. I'm missing a box score in my media guide software (Collegio) for the '97 UM/MSU game. Rough look though, I think the '97 D was superior even in total yards. If not, it's damn close.

Worth noting that Oregon & USC called off the dogs, too. 1953 yards surrendered to four teams, and two of them stopped trying to move the ball out of sympathy!

From what I saw that was the plan last year when they had a good pass rush. Problem was then as it is now(but worse) the back 7 is devoid of kids who can play well in space. Terrible angles, mistimed jumps, missed tackles etc.

Now that the pass rush is worse and the coverage no better, zone is suicide by paper cut. Man to man is suicide by shotgun.

That said tsun fans are being dishonest if they think this is a new problem, people here have been saying it since '04. Even with a new coach its the type of problem that only a new recruiting philosophy/ability can correct and that takes time. No quick fix to this one and if Lloyd does somehow stay and continues to recruit the way he has....man oh man.

Errr... You can see it that way, or you could see it as an injured player choosing to stay in instead of going out and putting his team in jeopardy.
I understand your point, OCBF, but a paraplegic Mike Hart would be the best tailback on this edition of the Vulvarine team. He has really been about the only positive thing about this season for TSUN.

Apparently there's a new rule where if you are not named Mike Hart and play RB you must fumble. Minor, Brown ugh
