Orange Bowl: Kansas (24) v. Virginia Tech (21) F

The refs are getting so strict on those celebrating into the end zone penalties.

I've never understood the complaining about this. The calls are often unnecessary, but the act itself is equally unnecessary. As a player, if you don't want to get flagged on a stupid call, it's probably best that you not do something blatant that invites them to do it.

and Talib shows us why Jenkins will be the first CB taken in the NFL draft. Whens the last time you saw Malcolm get beat deep?

You can get away with jumping routes like that when you're playing Iowa State or against whatever boneheaded QB Virginia Tech is trotting out this year. The NFL will eat this guy for lunch though. He'll make Leon Hall look like Deion Sanders.

I think applying logic and reason to 19 year olds jacked to the gills on adrenaline (and possibly zylocane) is futile.

Three quick observations -

Kansas is more fired up (especially on D) than VT.

The commentating and the sound balance is absolutely awful. Kenny Albert sounds like he speaking with his mouth full. Meanwhile they have too damn much of the ambient noise from the stadium, often burying the announcer's voices.

Overall, I think Fox's coverage of these games is beyond bad.

Shivvy, DLP Mirrors are what they use in the DLP HD TV. Apparently its supposed to stop streaks in games when people are moving to fast? Altough ive never seen streaks behind football players.

Do those same DLP mirrors make Mark May look like less of an ass clown? :chompy:

PLus, the Fox coverage is an absolute orgy of product pimping and over-commercilization. I blame MTV and the internets. :yow2:

Side bar ---- how awful of a movie does "Jumper" look like? Are these stupid promos supposed to get me interested in seeing this trainwreck?
