I run Vista and OSX 10.5 (Leopard) simultaneously using Parallels Desktop - run Vista as a virtual machine. Never had an issue with IP address conflicts until I loaded OpenDNS in order to solve the "resolving host" delay that frequently seems to plague the Chrome browser.
Since loading OpenDNS I have had this stupid IP address conflict that prevents ANY internet access - occasionally. Error message says I have two machines with the same IP address (presumably the Mac OSX and the virtual machine running Vista). Have unloaded OpenDNS from both OSX and Vista sides, but it seems as though it left behind something (kind of like the bear who recently broke into the Corolla and left a huge steaming present on the driver's seat).
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
