Online Directory Advice (Yellowpages.com, etc)

Does anyone here have any experience with online business directories? I have a horse farm which is looking for additional exposure, and YellowPages.com wants $99/mo to be included in their online directory.

I was trying to find reviews/feedback on various online directories, or perhaps a consumer reports article... but could not find any advice in that realm.

So if you have experience, or some advice for where to find existing advice (ie better searching than myself), I'd appreciate it.

For something like a horse farm, I would look for "industry specific" publications and "trade" magazines or whatever you would call it for horses. Just a thought.

I'd suggest they solicit the help of a firm that specializes in search engine optimization... because my guess is that folks would tend to go straight to a search engine for this and not any yellow page entity at all...

I know there are online cattle websites. I'd look for some online horse websites that advertise.
