Watson, Crick & A Twist
A More Permanent BP-Media Home from Home.
The number one bane of the BP Media user / downloader is the lack of a permanent repository for our files.
To help shoulder some of the burden I am taking the steps needed to convert a relatively high-powered home-built PC to an Ubuntu Linux Box running Azureus. The box has plenty of room to host additional cheap hard drives if capacity becomes a concern.
Within the coming days the majority of the files that are part of the collection I made in the past, or were made recently from media Clarity provided will be placed on this box. Until I pony up the bucks to get some redundant drives installed I plan to use an NTFS volume via USB to serve the rest.
I anticipate being able to host upwards of 20 file sets, these will not off course be served all at once - but sequentially, to allow efficient seeding.
The best news is that nobody else in the household needs to use this box. The net effect should be a high level of up-time on a robust platform, for serving the media clips / games.
