One Lucky Ohio Store Clerk

it's too bad she doesn't have minimal self-control. instead of making about $35k a year for 20 years, she could earn more than $35k per year for the rest of her life--as long as she never were to touch the principal. she could hire a financial advisor who would more or less be the obstacle between her and the principal. one could waste $35k per year just as well as one could waste the lump sum.

why the hell is she working at a gas station if she has an associate degree anyways?

Uh, maybe this is why:

The single mother--with nine maxed out credit cards
.
.
"If I'd have taken a lump sum, I'd be broke again within five years," she said.

Sometimes life is so brutally unfair. Hundreds of thousands of hard-working folks never win shit, whilst some fucking no-financial-discipline bimbo gets a cool million handed to her.

Hey, bitch, if you think you were smart in taking the yearly payments in order to keep from getting broke, what the fuck makes your stupid ass can manage $35,000 a year? You'll be broke within six months...

What a coincidence, so does Beavis and Butthead.

Finds a ten-spot in the store.

Buys the last "Magnificent Millions" ticket from the roll with said ten-spot.

Scratches and wins. Then rushes to restroom to puke.

No shit, while reading the first half of the article that was the only thing I could think. She is going to be broke again quite soon. Props to her, now she won't be broke again for at least 20 years.

well i just find it odd she is working at a gas station after obtaining an associate degree. sure maybe she is paying off debt, but it seems rather strange, but if she is then more power to her and i withdrawl all of my previous statements. i am moreless just illustrating a point in an "if this is the case" scenario, but i can't say. the are alot of spoiled shits on this campus right now that are going to drop out, not be accepted into their program, or barely graduate yet they have never worked a job....ever. this is almost as stupid as the people that are walking around wearing winter coats when it is 80+ degrees out or people yelling for absolutely no reason into their phones just to be attention whores.

Sounds like a slippery slope.

hmmm maybe but i am not exactly coming to a definite conclusion over the matter just "if it were the case" with a potentially true or false premise. i obviously have no clue why she is working there but it seems interesting to ask.

Read my previous post. If this chick already had nine cards maxed out on a store clerk's salary, and she herself admitted that she'd blow the million ($700,00 or so after taxes) within five years, what makes you think she won't blow that annual $35,000 within a couple months every year and then be in even deeper debt?
