So the World Series of Poker has come down to the final table... after 1 month and 1 week of various poker game goodness there is only 9 left in the main event.
The final table has always been played on its own day, so last night when the final 9 were reached the tournament was delayed as usual so the final table can be played as its own spectacular event, enter the fucknuts of ESPN.
The final day has always been just that, the final day. But just so ESPN can show the final table live while it runs the rest of June's WSOP tournies, ESPN has delayed the tournament until... NOVEMBER!!!! 117 days AFTER the main event has been reduced to 9. You thought the BCS is bad????
Thats right folks, just because ESPN needs a way to raise ratings for their TAPED REPRODUCTION of the WSOP, they have taken and got the rights to delay the final event for 4 months. All nine players have to go and wait until Novemeber to play for the 9 million dollar payout, whats worse is 3 of the players are from overseas and have to leave the US and then regain entry into the US in November or forfit their seat and finish in 9th place regardless of their current chip count.
This thing has been played the same way for almost 60 years, until ESPN comes, commercializes it, market-izes it and then has the cajones to run it like they see fit...
