Ole Miss Rebels (official thread)

Haha they would have had to have two mascots. Admiral Ackbar and his trusty sidekick, Lucas Films Legal Disclaimer.

Nothing says game day quite like:
'Admiral Akbar' is a trademark of Lucasfilm Ltd. and its related companies. Used under license'.

Keeping with the rebel theme, they could have named him Allah Ackbar -- that way the majorettes in the band could dress as belly dancers.

"The Fearsome Poodle!!"....No. "The Mad Blue Crab..." No, Walter Anderson would sue me. "The Bear!!!!!" That's it!!! Manly, yet snuggly and fuzzy and warm like a football program that will not win an SEC Title until....until.....until the colored play foah my Deah Alma Mater. Bwahahahahahaa!!!!!!

Are you gonna post something, or just Faulkner around?

O.k. so what exactly in the fuck does a black bear have to do with being a rebel, football, reforming your image as a racist institution or anything else Ole Miss is trying to do?

The Admiral Akbar thing I got. A fucking rebel black bear? Really?

Obviously, you never understood the Rebel mascot in the first place. It's origins can be traced to the Black Bear Rebellion of 1867. History has since been rewritten to call it Seward's Folly, but that was crafted by racist white polar bears to try and cover up the fact that they lost the war to the black bears, and were segregated to Alaska with the Russians never to return to the South.

Doesn't anyone know their history around here? :shake:

So is that what all currently living and non racist white polar bears are supposed to be so guilty about? I missed all this shit in school.

There are no non-racist white polar bears. Find me one case - one instance - when a polar bear took his freshly killed dead seal and shared it with a black bear in more populated inner woods!

Polar Bears feel vindicated in their selfish behaviors, they heard an urban legend, Black bears are vegetarian!
Of course this urban legend cannot be verified because most polar bears have moved to the suburbs and the other legend of urban has fled to the mountains.

Given the documented cases of ursid hybrids it's reasonably certain to say there was at least one case of food sharing to get the groove on.

Regardless, what's clearly needed is for some enlightened Ursus Maritimus to step up and take the mantle of making decisions for all the Ursus Americanus since they aren't capable of overcoming their disadvantages on their own.
