nah...no need to shoot up....heck...when i was 25 i could gain/drop both mass and weight at will....

all he needs is the right protein diet and workout situation to be where he wants...

what is interesting about jt is that he clearly prefers to bring in undersized linemen with good footwork and add weight to them......the previous regime seemed to favor the opposite approach...bring them in fully grown and teach them footwork....

time will tell...

ashland....i really hope they are not prevalent on college campuses....in the nfl...it doesnt bother me so much....

young kids....god im old...can manipulate their body type fairly easily.....no need for roids...

someone alluded to "farm strength" a couple of weeks ago....i believe this....remember...a males secondary muscle growth kicks in from 16-24....this pretty much explains the early risers and the late bloomers we all know....

the guys i can see taking roids are those who have gone past the muscle growth arena...and have no choice...

I think it is generally accepted that guys like Tony Manderich(sp?) and Boz from Oklahoma were helped from the use of steroids.
Only when they get to the NFL and testing begins do they begin weening themselves off of them and their edge is gone.
My guess is that 'roid use is higher in college than it is in the NFL.

Not to speak on roids as we will never have a clear picture of how often and by whom they are used, but I am a big fan of bringing in athletic, lighter kids with decent frames and then adding size and strength.

Iowa does it, Michigan,Minnesota, Wisonsin, BC, Nebraska, USC etc. We have always subscribed to a 6'4 320 pound High Schooler that may or may not be able to play at that weight in college. Bishop and Clarke are perfect examples. Olivea wasn' t too big wneh he came in but was certainly too big when he went out.

Gallery at Iowa and Matt Light at Purdue are perfect examples of how this can be done. We need to emulate this as these schools have had a lot of success on the OL for many years. I think we are moving that way and I look forward to the change bearing many offensive fruits.
