Metal Rules
The question of this thread is, do you have any old habits that you've just carried along with you since your early age? Being mostly males here it's safe to say we all went through the stage of playing with bugs and cockroaches etc... and hopefully everyone here has grown out of that. (except Donny and Tibor.)

I can say I still enjoy looking at my old coins and baseball cards, alos I like my naps. It may only be an hour long nap but it still makes me feel a little bit refreshed when I go to work at night or just going out. I feel it makes me feel better if I wake up early, have an afternoon nap and then able to stay up that little bit later at night because i've already rested a little bit.

Your habits?

I played with legos way too long. They are actually still sitting in my closet at my parents house collecting dust. I think I was still building stuff out of legos for my brother when I was in HS. He wasn't much of a builder, but enjoyed playing with them.
I don't think I do anything that I did when I was a kid. A couple years ago I did download some of the old games that I used to play on the Commodore 64.

I have a bunch of Atari games on my PS2 that I play all the time. Other than that, the only habit I have kept since I was a teen is streaking. I like to run all over the university, through the quad, and end up in the gymnasium.

My hubby has a ton of old habits that he has kept from his younger years. Anything to do with games, he has it or still plays it. He has been playing paintball for more than 15 years. What is great about this is that my son gets to play these games.

I do a lot of things in a very specific order. The process of showering and getting ready for work is always the same. Start shower, Brush teeth, Listerine in, get in shower, wash hair and face, spit out Listerine, wash everything else.

The routine never changes.

I have several, but nothing really strange:

1. When I eat M&Ms I separate them by colors.

Then I eat them in groups of 3. If there are less than three I wont eat that group.

I used to put the extras in a Tupper Ware container and save them till I got a group of 3 in that color. But after having two 'tan' M&Ms that were several years old I just started offering the extras to guests.

2. I brush my upper teeth on MWF and my lowers on TTS. On Sunday I floss.

3. If I am watching a tv show and a beer commercial comes on I change the channel and can't go back to watching that show until another beer commercial comes on a different channel.

4. Every night I write three letters. One is to the President. The second is to Don Knotts. The third is to Nicole Kidman. I have been doing this since Eisenhower was President.

Before Kidman it was Sophia Loren. Not sure who I will replace Knotts with, but as of now I am still writing to him.

The letters to the President are always threatening - even the Rebpublicans. Those to Don Knotts are asking for career advice. The ones to Nicole are as you might imagine.

I never get in any trouble because I don't mail them, but I do have some very valuable uncancelled stamps.

5. Four times a day I abuse myself. I always use two sheets of 3 ply Aloe Vera Kleenex (keeps it nice and soft). I wrap that in a paper towell, tie it together with a rubber band and save them for a week. I keep them in the container with my extra M&Ms.

At the end of the week I wrap them in foil, place them in a snack size zip lock bag (three to a bag) and put them in the trash with the extra copies of whichever page of my HS Yearbook I am focusing on that week. (I only need 4 copies, but often make as many as 20. Not sure why, just a little strange that way.)

Other than that it is just piercings, licking 9 volt batteries, stuff like that.

Nothing as crazy as biting my nails. Yech!
