OL Taylor Decker (Detroit Lions)

And neither seem to be fat at 300+.

No joke. Great thing about already having great body types (and UFM mentioned he loved how they were built) is that Marroti can fine tune for maximum performance...he won't have to start from scratch.

The way I see it, Taylor likely assured himself PT by coming in early. There is essentially a top 3 for tackle at the moment (Fragel, Mewhort, and Norwell) with a 4th spot in the two deep up for grabs. I see Taylor making an immediate impact at LT. Dodson is going to be a great player, but Taylor got a major leg up coming here early.

Brains, Not Brawn, Make Decker One to Watch for Fall Camp
By Brandon Castel

COLUMBUS, Ohio ? Once considered too lanky to play offensive line at a major program like Ohio State, Taylor Decker is on the verge of a starting spot after just 15 practices.

The former basketball junky out Vandalia Butler has blossomed into a 6-8, 315-pound monster on the gridiron, but it?s Decker?s brains that have him in position to battle senior Reid Fragel for a starting spot on the offensive line this fall.

?He?s very smart,? said Ohio State?s first-year offensive line coach Ed Warinner.

?He?s very football-smart?smarter than anyone else in my room. He has pretty good technique for a guy that could still be in high school.?

The body will fill out in the weight room and training table. Being very football smart, with great technique already makes him a candidate to be extra special. So glad Urban flipped him back to the good guys, he's going to be a star.

Dienhart: 12 Newcomers to watch in 2012

OHIO STATE
Taylor Decker, OT - The Buckeyes won a fierce recruiting battle with Notre Dame for Decker. The true freshman graduated high school early and took part in spring drills—and he impressed with his advanced knowledge and technique. Decker is in the mix for the starting right tackle spot with former tight end Reid Fragel and ex-defensive lineman Darryl Baldwin for a line that must replace three starters.
