OL Steve Rehring (official thread)

This could possibly come from reports that Browning has been taking reps and just about every position on the Line, one being Steve's, and people are just jumping to conclusions. I highly doubt Steve would be listed as 1st string on the newest depth chart if the staff felt this way.

I saw it from a source that I considered credible (not a message board post). I saw Bryant Browning's name listed as the starter at LG (on something that was listed after the depth charts that came out over the weekend). But I can no longer find it, so I'm assuming it was a mistake that's been removed.

FWIW, here's a quote from JT yesterday, which doesn't sound negative about Rehring.

I'd view that as a negative for Rehring.. He was a starter last season, and now he's being mentioned in the same sentence as a bunch of unproven guys...

"Out of shape" and hitting a goal that was set for him can be two VERY different things.

From what I've heard, it's a combination of Rehring maybe not being in the best shape and other players(Browning obviously, but also Connor Smith) looking REALLY(I mean REALLY) good.

As bad as the o-line got beaten up by quicker more athletic d-linemen in Arizona, they shouldn't come to camp looking like Chris Farley, either.

Well put. You can be big and strong, without being fat. I think people forget that sometimes.

Since I like BP the best..... I wouldn't look to much into it. It is the first week of practice........ He weighed more vs. Michigan then he does now. Also it is not because he did anything bad, like driving drunk.

For what it's worth he did gain 40 lbs on his bench this summer.

Hey, there's a voice we haven't heard from in a while. Always like to see/hear the other half of the story. No doubt that camp will take off most of the "extras" some guys might have put on. 40lbs on the bench is pretty good, whats that put him at for a max @400? Big Steve and Alex on the left side put many a RB in the secondary last season with the gaping holes they opened and we're looking for more of the same this season.
