OL Michael Brewster (Official Thread)

Scout $

2/11

More film of Michael making sure other people have a bad day. This kid might be the best of the group in '08. If he were a tackle he would be a sure fire 5-star. As a projected guard or center, he still probably will be a 5-star (although there are usually less 5-star guards than 5-star tackles each year, for obvious reasons that I don't necessarily agree with).

2008 is absolutely critical to the coming success of the program based on the big OOS series coming up.
We must do well with lineman or things could get really ugly in those games.

Well I think that staff realizes that and they know they can take a bigger class in 09 so they are really trying to get the big boys in this class, and throw in some skill players and then hit it real hard in 09...

As for Brewster kid is a stud and I agree that he should be a 5 star even tho he will be a guard/center prospect...

aren't their two guards and two tackles plus a center? or did I miss the sarcasm font? my point was that I think recruiting services overhype kids who project as tackles. obviously left tackles make the big money in the NFL but for the purposes of projecting the talents of an 18-year old I think recruiting services put to much emphasis on tackle vs. guard.

Great point. Just because the player projects at a position that is more valued doesn't necessarily mean that the player is better than the other playing a less valued position. I never really noticed this before but Micheal should be rated very high I think...any comparison to Jeff Byars?

Michael has been informed that USC will be extending an offer.

Although he seems pretty excited by the offer, this is probably the least nervous I have ever been by an offer from PfC.
