It only takes a minute or so perusing video of Toledo?s defense to know the Rockets are likely to come out firing relentless blitzes and other shenanigans at the Ohio State offense today. It?s what they do.
?They?re going to move around a lot, they?re going to stunt a lot, do a lot of stuff with twists and games up front,? OSU right tackle J.B. Shugarts said. ?They do blitz a lot, probably more than any team we?ll play all year. You?ve got to be mentally and physically prepared for that.?
The Buckeyes have a vital asset in All-American center Michael Brewster, because his recognition at the line of what?s coming and then his adjustment calls in the blocking scheme will be critical.
?He?s like a mad scientist when it comes to stuff like that,? left guard Jack Mewhort said. ?He knows all of the looks, all of the defenses. He can look at the safeties and tell you exactly what?s coming.
?It?s good to have him out there, because if he sees guys on the edge or if he sees the safeties moving he knows exactly what?s up. Being out there with him makes you feel a lot more comfortable.?
Quarterback Joe Bauserman agreed.
?It?s all about seeing,? Bauserman said. ?When teams start moving late it?s harder to see, but you just have to be able to find the safeties. He does a real good with that.?
Shugarts said, ?We?re blessed to have Michael, because he?s probably one of the best ? I?d say the best ? center in the country at doing that, recognizing a blitz and telling us what to do to pick it up.?

We're really going to struggle next year without Brewster. And Adams and Shugarts. :(The Buckeyes have a vital asset in All-American center Michael Brewster, because his recognition at the line of what?s coming and then his adjustment calls in the blocking scheme will be critical.

It will be a difficult to replace those guys, but Norwell, Hall, and Mewhort have been impressive...I love Brewster's attitude though. He will have a long career in the NFL.ant80;1985487; said:We're really going to struggle next year without Brewster. And Adams and Shugarts. :(

Bittersweet ending

Michael Brewster's senior season wasn't supposed to go like this, but he'll leave Ohio State with no regrets
As Michael Brewster, bearing a rose, jogs toward his parents this afternoon on senior day in Ohio Stadium, his mother will be in tears.
Heck, Kathy Brewster broke down a little just in anticipation of the moment, the ceremonial last entry her senior son will make before playing his final home for Ohio State against Penn State.
?It will be very emotional,? she said. ?I honestly have been dreading this day, because it?s always hard to close a chapter in life. From here on out it?s an adult world. And Michael has grown up a lot, all of these boys have. Gosh, I remember when they first got here, they were all such little high school boys. They?re men now. Look at ?em.
?But college football, I just think it?s the best. The kids out there are playing for their school, for each other, and with their hearts. And this will be the last time Michael he gets to play in Ohio Stadium, in front that great home crowd and the student body, which I think is a big part of playing in home games. There?s no way you won?t miss it.?
